Leadership doesn’t begin with a title — it’s built through years of service, responsibility, problem‑solving, and bringing people together to accomplish meaningful goals. Throughout my life, I’ve been fortunate to lead in many areas: education, athletics, community service, environmental stewardship, event organizing, and public service.
Leadership isn’t about being in charge. It’s about inspiring people to recognize opportunities, reach for them, and become better because of them. I’ve spent a lifetime in leadership roles, and I want to use that experience to deliver real and visible results for all of us. But opportunity doesn’t show up on its own — we cannot sit back and wait for something to happen. We have to go out and grab it.
That journey begins with participation. It begins with voting, encouraging others to vote, and believing that our communities deserve strong, experienced leadership rooted in service, integrity, and aloha.
Together, we can turn ideas into action and create meaningful opportunities for the future of District 6.

Serving a very productive term as District 6 Councilman in 2008, gives Guy a huge advantage in bringing his Project List to fruition.

The goal for the OKK Keiki Fishing tournament is to bring our families and community together to enjoy one of our most sacred places in Ka’u, Punalu’u Black Sand Beach. The event gave both parents and children the opportunity to spend quality time together as a family and as a community.

Guy’s leadership — spotting problems early, solving them decisively, and keeping standards high — has kept the program at the top of the Northwest for four decades. His focus on relationships and service beyond self is the foundation of that sustained his success.

Guy Enriques, founder and tournament director of the Hawaiʻi Island Labor Day Classic, has built the event into the largest high school girls volleyball tournament in the State of Hawaiʻi. Each year, the tournament attracts 30–40 of the top high school teams from across the country, generating significant economic impact for Hawaiʻi Island through sports tourism. More than just a volleyball tournament, the event was created with the vision of building reciprocal benefits for both visiting mainland teams and Hawaiʻi teams. Mainland programs bring a high level of competition that helps elevate and develop local athletes, while Hawaiʻi teams and communities share the culture, hospitality, and spirit of aloha that make the islands so special.
